  • We do the housekeeping for all resident's bedrooms.
  • We provide laundry service.
  • We supply fresh linens.
  • We stock the bathroom with standard bathroom supplies.

General emotional and miscellaneous support

Assistance in planned activities.

We organize house outings for residents. We also assist in recommending activities of residents individually as well. We place our residents into activities that are appropriate for both their physical and mental capabilities and skillsets.

Assistance in the planning and arranging of transportation.

As an example, one of our residents had recently moved in from out of state and was capable or traveling outside into the community independently. We assisted him in getting an application for a low-cost bus pass. So, he could walk one block over to the bus stop, get on that bus and travel throughout the San Diego metro area.

Most residents do not drive and don't own a car.

Most residents depend on public transportation. We help them plan and get them where they need to go.

People with mental disorders can cycle quickly and should be monitored closely to make sure intervention can be initiated in a timely fashion.

Our Staff is trained and focused to notice daily observational changes. Individual moods can fluctuate and are not always stable. People with mental disorders can quickly become manic. We observe behavioral changes to help residents identify these changes so they can notify their psychiatrist.

When residents first come to our homes, they typically are not well networked and organized for local community mental disorder services.

We recommend having your family member assessed at an outpatient program, where they can determine whether they need to be seen by one of their psychiatrists.

We have many decades of experience working in the mental disorder services industry and we are dedicated to sharing our knowledge with our residents and their families.

Medical Support for their Health Condition

  • Assisting in the planning and arranging for medical and dental needs.
  • We are responsible for ordering resident’s medication after the primary care doctor or psychiatrist calls it in.
  • Every month we receive and manage all resident’s monthly medication.
  • We pass out and keep track of all prescribed medication giving resident their meds at the appropriate hour. We take the guess work and the stress out worrying about whether a resident took their meds.
  • Bedside care for minor temporary illness.

Accompanying residents to their doctors’ appointments?

If a resident needs us to go, we support them. Most often, accompanying a resident to an appointment occurs if the doctor requests that someone be present from the home, or our resident feels nervous about going on their own.

We assist at the appointments by taking notes on the doctors’ directives. It is not just for primary physicians, but also includes psychiatry. If a resident’s psychiatrist has questions, we can provide input on symptomatology. Since our staff is trained to pay close attention and observe behavior, this can assist the doctors in understanding their patients mental state from one month to the next.

Educating Resident on taking proper prescribed medication

With the information that is instantaneously available on the Internet, not all medications are appropriate for patients that have certain symptoms. We recommend always letting a doctor determine what is best for the patient based on their condition, symptoms and side effects.
